Last week the weather group from cycle 1 had the privlage to vist Stardome. We finally donated our Southern cross star constellation to staff of Stardome.
On the way to Stardome Mr Coaton told us how excited Stardome was for us and our constellation to arrive. When we arrived we were welcomed by Beth and her staff. We were then taken to a room where a few staff and the media from the local newspaper were waiting for us. We then presented our masterpiece and they were so happy. We recieved goodie bags and also a family pass to vist again!!! We then got to watch 2 shows. The first one was about an astronaut and the second one was about the night sky. Finally we were taken to the telescope room where we got to look at the sun through the telescope.
Over all we had an amzing day and Stardome now has an awesome new display to educate people on how to find True South.

Endangered birds team
Our endangered birds team worked with Mrs Watson to make little bird feeding balls to feed our native birds in out area. Inside our bird feeding balls we used bread, cauliflour, flour and oats. Then we stuffed it into the oven for approximately 10-15 minutes. Then we cut up some string and tied it onto the feeding balls. Later we tied them onto native trees and then observed what the birds would do.

Well done to Brandon
Weather group
The weather group is made up of seven students, the group leader is Cody Cullen.
At the moment we have contacted Stardome in regards to our social action.
At specialist class, we are creating a star constilation of the southern cross and the two pointer stars, of a high quality to donate to Stardome. We also have some exciting news about visiting stardome as a whole class at the end of the term.
During class time, we are recording at the schools' weather station, the temperature, sky condition, precipitation, and wind direction. This is very exciting as we feel this is a great way to learn how to use different instruments ourselves instead of relying on the weather forecasts.
